It wasn't his party, and he cried because he wanted to

Carter went to his first party last night, a big soiree at Mel and Ed's house. He didn't seem to like it much, after being held and poked by one too many strangers. We left after an hour for the comforts of home.

Quarterly update

Carter turned three months old this week. His hair has grown in and turned a bit reddish these days, and his eyes are still a deep blue. He weighs in at 12.6 pounds and can hold his head up nicely. He's the strong, silent type, preferring to leave the baby talk to his parents. He stares at the magnets on the refrigerator, the ceiling fans and the flashing star on his baby gym. He has a smile for anyone who will receive it, but lights up the most when sitting in front of a mirror looking at himself. Happy three month birthday, Carter!

What a blanket!

Kelly dropped by a beautiful knitted blanket for Carter. It kept him warm today during his morning nap. Thanks, Kelly!

Grandma's here

Carter's grandma has been here for the last couple of days and he's had fun hanging out. We put him in the sling today, but he only lasted for a few minutes before he wanted to be free.

We've been working with Carter to try and get him to reach out and grab things. Captured on camera is his first ever grab! Woo hoo!

Getting better each day

Carter still has a bit of a congested cough but he's eating and sleeping well.

Back to Seattle

The light posting this week is due to Carter's first cold. He's had a minor virus and his face is breaking out. Good thing we're headed back to Seattle tomorrow!
