Stencils

Carter's great-grandmother sent him a book of stencils. He doesn't quite understand it, but he seems to like it anyway.

Sushi boats

It's hard to take Carter out to eat, but the one restaurant he seems to do OK at is Ariake Sushi. Small plates of sushi sit on the boats that go around the center of the restaurant, and he enjoys watching the boats go by. He gets a bowl of rice (he refuses to eat sushi) and watches the lights flicker on the walls and ceiling.

Handy Manny -- with spoons

Carter's only seen one episode of Handy Manny but he picked up on the idea of a hat and tool box. In this case, the tool box is a dishwasher caddy full of spoons.

Here's the real Handy Manny:

Popping bubble wrap

Carter and Grant love to pop bubble wrap -- with their teeth!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Carter made a Valentine's hat at school and refused to take it off yesterday.

Phoenix Children's Museum

We went to the Phoenix Children's Museum today with Ava and Grant. The kids spent a lot of time in the cooking area:

Happy birthday, Ava!

We're in Phoenix this week, and went to Ava's 4th birthday party. It was a girls only event, but Carter and Grant were allowed as passive observers.

There was a two-story jumper house in the yard, and that was definitely Carter's favorite part of the day.

The jumper had a big slide.

Chef Isabel made personal pan pizzas with customized toppings.

Cinderella showed up and did everyone's makeup and hair.

Storytime with Cinderella.

I guess you don't hit pinatas anymore. You pull streamers and one of them opens everything.

More Cars toys

It's too easy to buy Carter toys from the "Cars" movie. Each car costs only $3.50 at Target, and so when we go there we usually pick up a new one for him. He adores them.

And then, we had to get a carrying case for them. And then, the gas station playset.
