The dentist threatened to pull them out if the teeth didn't come out on their own. Carter was told to wiggle his loose teeth several times a day.
And finally, they came out. He didn't have any big window in his teeth, though, because the big teeth were right there to fill in the gap.
Oh, and the Tooth Fairy totally failed with the first tooth. She forgot about it completely, and then tried to slip a $5 bill in later in the morning after Carter suffered some crushing disappointment when he woke up and checked under his pillow.
Luckily the Tooth Fairy made good the second time!
