First Lego set
Dad bought Carter his first Lego set a few days ago, and taught Carter how to assemble it all by himself. Totally sweet.

Lego catalog
Carter spent a lot of time on the sofa checking out the latest Lego catalog.
He finally said he wanted the Lego Racers police car. And hey, it's only six bucks!

Easter Egg hunt 2011
I didn't have high expectations for this Easter Egg hunt, but I think it was the best one we've been to. It was at a miniature golf course, and the best part was that parents were banned. I've seen the worst of parents at Easter Egg hunts. They are voracious predators. They will stop at nothing to get their children as many eggs as possible. Quite frightening.
But today was just the kids.
And one unbelievably disturbing Easter bunny:
That Carter was terrified of and hid from behind his Dad:
Carter was in the age 4-5 group. Parents stood around the perimeter. The kids were limited to 10 eggs each, and there were plenty for everyone.
Carter is so funny at these things. Other kids were racing to get as many eggs as they could. Carter was his usual methodical, deliberate self. He went very slowly around the place, looking for just the right eggs and counting and re-counting the ones in his basket. Eventually, he was the last one there.
Finally, he had his 10. We went and opened them, and found the grand prize hidden inside of one: A season pass to the water park. Woo hoo! Slow and steady wins!
And then we put baskets on our heads.
