It's that time again: SHOTS!

Carter turned 18 months old on Friday, and we celebrated this momentous occasion with a trip to the pediatrician's office. Looks like Carter is staying at the same percentiles. He's 33 inches tall (75th percentile), almost 23.5 pounds (25th percentile) and his head is a staggering 51 centimeters around (95th percentile).

It's a good thing they don't measure foot size, as I think Carter has the feet of a fifth grader already.

He got vaccines for diptheria tetanus and pertussis, hepatitis A and haemophilus influenza. But he handled it well, and even waved and tearfully said "bye!" to the nurse as she was leaving the room.

I had a long discussion with the doctor about Carter's daily attempts to climb out of his crib. He does this mainly before his nap. The doctor said I should put him in a toddler bed right away, because he could break a leg or suffer worse injury if he falls out of the crib (which he has done twice). I'm not willing to do this, because there's no way I'd get him to go to sleep if he could run around the room. Now, I'm thinking about baby jail.

Here he is playing with the toys in the exam room. He has no idea he's about to get stabbed in the legs.

After it was over, we went to Vasona Lake Park to ride the Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad. It's so cool to have a train like this a few miles from our house. Carter gets really excited when the conductor yells "All aBOARD!" Here he is looking too cute:

Then we went to the playground at the park:

Carter's big wedding day

It's wedding time! Carter wore his jacket from Aunt Tammy and his space invader shoes.

Here he is with the groom, David Baron.

Doesn't he look sharp?

Dad was a groomsman.

Sometimes, you gotta stand on one leg.

The wedding was at the Prado in Balboa Park.

Hey, what's everyone looking at? Hello?

Here's a video of Carter's own wedding march:

Hanging out with Aria

In what is becoming an annual tradition, Carter and I went to visit Aria in San Diego. The last time we saw her, she wasn't even a month old. Remember this?

Here we are, 11 months later. Thank you to Clayton for taking these pictures. He took so many good ones that I have blog fodder for weeks!

Please, kids, don't get too excited or anything....

The best expression...

They actually played together here and there. It was really cute.

Rolling on the sofa

One of Carter's favorite activities is to roll trucks and trains (and snails) around on the sofa cushions.

In San Diego

We're in San Diego for a wedding, at which Carter had a meltdown of nuclear proportions. I had to take him back to the hotel before the reception even started. Blame a bad nap, a lack of a good meal and parents that were preoccupied with being back in San Diego. Sigh.....lesson learned. I'll post pictures of happier times when I get a chance. First, I need to try and piece together my sanity...
