Legoland!

One member of the family was very excited to go to Legoland. Especially because it was Star Wars day. So Carter and I went along for the ride. The admission fee was outrageous ($63? Come on, really?) but luckily we had a coupon for $8 off two adult tickets and Carter is still in the free category.

C-3PO!

Bob the Builder!

The inauguration!

A very enthusiastic Darth Vader!

On the fire truck.

Whoa, the real-life Bob the Builder!

Playing with Legos.

There was a strange part of the park where you could brush and dig sand away from skeletons in the ground.

I really liked the food at Legoland. Fresh strawberries and veggies, good coffee and pastries. Even the pizza was good. This was the best amusement park I've been to with Carter, so, as outrageous as the ticket prices were, I'd go back again.

Sunday morning at the beach house

Forgot to post these pics from the beach house. It was an amazing place.

Here's the house from the water. It's the one right behind the kid.

Carter's favorite beach game is saying "I'm a giant!" and smashing the sand castles I built.

"No wedding!"

We had a great time in San Diego at Paul and Darlene's wedding. Carter thoroughly enjoyed himself -- playing on the bay, turning on the charm for wedding guests and dancing. But he continued his pattern of acting badly at weddings, a tradition begun at David Baron's wedding last year. This time, when he was told to be quiet during the ceremony, he started yelling "No wedding!" and had to be escorted off the premises.

At the end of the night, he got to go upstairs to our room and watch Mater videos on the bed. He loves doing that.

Here's a video of him dancing to the guitar music:

The obsession continues

Carter and I recently made Cozy Cone hotel rooms for his cars. Yes, I know this is bordering on ridiculous.

"Be green, Mommy!"

I have started calling the kid "Al Gore" around the house. His Dad taught him not to waste water. It's good to be green, Dad says.

So now, when I run the water to wash his hands, Carter tells me to turn it down. "Be green, Mommy!"

Hilarious

Carter posed for the camera, and then told me to take a picture of his butt. This was apparently VERY funny.

Potty tales

We've carefully avoided any potty training, thinking Carter wasn't ready. I would tell him, however, that he wasn't a big boy until he learned how to use the potty. I brought his little toilet in from the garage last week, thinking I'd clean it and start talking about it here and there. Imagine my surprise when he demanded to use it before I could even move it to the bathroom.

That was less than a week ago, and now he pees in his little potty two or three times a day. He has a blue plastic toilet that plays a song when it senses pee in the bowl. He gets a big kick out of hearing the music. We've moved to Pull-Ups, and I gleefully put away my Costco card when my membership expired a few days ago. Diapers were pretty much all I bought there anyway.

Today, he started walking into the bathroom on his own, using the toilet and even washing his hands in the sink.

Could it really be this easy?

Here it is in the kitchen.

He brought his snack with him one time. Those are Lightning McQueen tattoos on his legs.

Oh and he brushes his teeth on his own now. He's growing up too quickly!

Miniature train

I ran this photo through TiltShiftMaker.com. It's supposed to look like a miniature train now. Not sure if it does...
